The Bar at the Muckley Corner House Hotel is a typical English pub bar with a few Italian touches.  You'll get good English Beer and the usual range of drinks.  Bar snacks, some English, some Italian - a nice combination and making a pleasant change.

Granite top bar in this eating out in Lichfield barSometimes the person behind the bar may be Italian - if it is Nat (the owner) he can speak fluently in a lot of European languages.  Come soon and enjoy the friendlyPub with an open fire in Lichfield. Italian restaurant at Muckley corner atmosphere.  Plenty of car parking - some at the front and some at the back.  Recently restored is a real fireplace - the chimney is cleared and fire is there every chilly night - recently installed wood panelling around this fireplace add charm.  A fire - real like our food because, let's be honest, real is nice.

Sadly, the bar is closed at the moment.

The bar floor has been done - now you have a solid oak floor, recently stained to a light oak colour. The wall between the bar and what used to be the pool room has been removed to give a far nicer more open look; the fireplace in the corner is in stone and in character. Now there is a new granite top on the bar - looks like Rosa Porrino to me but I will need to double check with Nat - looks great and is a wonderfully good surface for a bar too; new rails around the top, bar front (the bit below the top) being done to bring it back to the same detail as over a century ago; a section on the bar wall with thick glass shelves - now, most of you may think that those bits of glass on the shelf are there just for decoration - a few may recognise those as being the bottles for some very serious Italian Brandies - if you are into good brandy, give yourself a treat (but they ain't cheap).

One of the good things about this bar is the people who visit it. A good mix of regulars and diners. One thing that they all seem to have in common is that they are nice people; if you have never been, you will not be stared at as an intruder (as happens in some pubs);  if you have been before, someone will recognise you and you will feel comfortable. Good place to have a drink and a chat or to meet people.

A range of beers and lagers on draught - Guinness, Stella Artois, Carling, Banks, Boddingtons, Tetley's.  A 'real ale' on its way, here soon.  Good choice of bottled beer including the Italian Peroni.

Tea and coffee - real Italian espresso for those who can take their coffee strong.  Cafetiere coffee, cappuccino - instant if that is what you want!

Great bar snacks which you can eat in the adjacent restaurant if you prefer.  Panini with salami, porchetta, parma ham. Baguettes with freshly cooked steak or roast lamb.  A range of sandwiches all freshly made on the premises.  Like all our food - real food made and prepared by real people and served to you, our real customers!

Did you know that fast food chains hardly make any headway in Italy - why? Well, if you had a choice between standard fast food as found all over the place in the UK or good Italian cooking, which would you choose? The Italians are not stupid - they know how to live and how to eat well.

Plenty of free parking, some at the front and some at the back.  Parking at the back accessed by going a very short way down the A5 Eastbound past the hotel and turning into the back of our premises.
